Description

The Caer Caradoc is based on a Caerphilly style of cheese which is matured for two to three months. This creates a delicious light, crumbly cheese which has a distinct fresh citrus taste.

Pair this cheese with a punchy chutney for a great combination!

So, where did the name come from? If you’re from Shropshire or nearby, you’ll most likely know Caer Caradoc. If not, it’s a hill overlooking the lovely town of Church Stretton, which is an ancient hill fort. Once you’ve made it to the top, you’re rewarded with stunning views of other local hills including the Wrekin, Wenlock Edge and the Long Mynd.

Legend has it that this was the site of the last stand of Caractacus against the Roman Legions during their conquest of Britain, and that after the battle he hid in the cave near its summit.
